Interview

1) What would you say your best characteristic is?

I would have to say it’s my determination. Not only do I acquire determination in my career but also my personal life. If I start a new project, no matter the length and detail of it, I will do everything it takes to make sure I finish it before moving on to the next one.

2) How did you know you wanted to pursue a career in the Fashion industry?

I started taking my love for Fashion seriously in high school, although now that I think of it I can’t ever say I wanted to pursue anything outside this industry. Looking back, I have no idea what I would have done if I wasn't a fashion designer, I am fortunate for finding my passion at an early age.

3) Has moving and currently residing in NYC helped your career?

I knew early on it was primitive to be in NYC, however it has been the best decision I could have made for the success of my career. Living here has not only shaped the person I am today, but most importantly it’s given me the luxury to be surrounded by designer, stylists, photographers etc.

4) How would you categorize your designs?

My design aesthetic would be described as being contemporary. However, I do have other styles I enjoy designing, such as evening wear.

5) Who and what inspire you?

As far as designers, I immensely admire and am inspired by the work of Karl Lagerfeld and Christophe Decarnin. With my own designs I get inspired by almost everything within my surrounding environment. I get inspired from objects, people, ideas, art and much more.

6) Where do you see yourself in the next 5-10 years?

My dreamer personality allows me to go on and on about this, but as long as I am in a beautiful studio designing and my clothes are admiring others, I will be exceptionally content.

7) Let's say your younger sibling wanted to follow in your foot steps, how would you guide them to success?

From personal experience, the best advice I would give to my younger brother, or anyone looking to pursue fashion as a career is to make sure the passion and creativity is there 100%. If not, it may be hard to stay motivated and positive within this competitive industry. I would let them make their own decisions, because it’s the only way I’ve learned to get ahead. Furthermore, I would guide them on getting their work out to the public and help them out with as much as I can.
